Fatehgarh Sahib,October 28, 2020:
After the expiry of 15 days of police remand, the accused in two sacrileges Acts of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in Fatehgarh Sahib was presented in the court and the police did not sought his further police remand and court send him in Judicial Custody upto 10th November. Interestingly police submitted application for his lie detector test, which the court allowed after taking the consent of the accused.
The SGPC lawyers said that it is unfortunate that police failed to bring out the truth and expose the conspiracy and the forces behind the sacrilege acts even during the 15 day police custody. They termed the demand of lie detector test during judicial custody instead of police custody as a conspiracy of the State government to isolate the accused, so that people may forget the incident. A.S.Dharni Senior Advocate filed two applications demanding Narco Analysis Test (Truth Serum) and P-300 Brain Maping Test, so that the real truth may come out. He said that the accused was arrested on the spot, while committing sacrilege, he might be the member of a gang and involved in other sacrilege acts at Bargari and Behbal Kalan. He said that had the police interrogated him properly, the conspiracy would have been exposed.
The lawyers alleged that during the previous hearing the police had sought police remand stating in the court that during his custodial interrogation police recovered 10 mobile phones,7 sim cards,3 memory cards, pen drive and two more mobile phones, but the personal mobile phone, which he usually used is still to be recovered and to be examined by the cyber crime cell to identify his other accomplices, but today police did not inform the court whether that cell phone has been recovered or not and the cyber crime has conducted any enquiry or identified any other person.
