Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, announced that Mr. Arvind Kumar, son of Mr. Sudama Singh and a resident of House No. 3, Onkar Nagar, District Kapurthala, had his fake Scheduled Caste Certificate rejected by the State Level Scrutiny Committee, which was constituted by the Punjab Government.
Providing more information, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, explained that Rajesh Kumar Mehra, a resident of village Lakhanpur in District Jalandhar, had lodged a complaint with the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities. The complaint stated that Mr. Arvind Kumar, of Onkar Nagar, District Kapurthala, had forged a Scheduled Caste certificate despite belonging to the (Bhuiya) caste. She further informed that this caste is not included in the list of Scheduled Castes of Punjab State.
The Minister further informed that after the department conducted its investigation, it was confirmed that Arvind Kumar’s Scheduled Caste certificate was indeed fake.
The minister stated that our department has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala, requesting the cancellation and confiscation of Mr. Arvind Kumar’s Scheduled Caste Certificate No. 98 dated 01.02.1989. And if the SC certificate has been availed of benefits by the concerned, then that too should be withdrawn.
