• Says, supervisors to contribute for timely execution of government welfare programs
• 33 per cent reservation for women to be ensured in one lakh public sector jobs

As a part of the initiative to empower women by providing more employment opportunities, Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary, on Wednesday, handed over appointment letters to 34 Anganwadi Supervisors here at Punjab Bhawan, around one month after providing government jobs to 362 Anganwadi Supervisors in a series. These 34 Anganwari Supervisors have been promoted in Ex-Servicemen and Sports Quota category.
Exhorting Anganwadi Supervisors to work with utmost dedication, Mrs. Chaudhary said that the promotion of Anganwadi workers to the post of Supervisor would not only strengthen the department, but it would further help in providing nutritious food and healthy environment to the next generations. “These supervisors would also be instrumental in providing timely information about the government welfare schemes to all the sections of the state”, said the minister, expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for providing 33 per cent reservation to women in government jobs and 50% reservation in the elections of local bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions. She affirmed that the state government would soon provide one lakh jobs in the public sector, wherein 33 per cent reservation for women to be completely ensured.
The Minister, who was accompanied by Principal Secretary Mrs. Raji P. Srivastava, Joint Secretary Mrs. Vimmi Bhullar and Deputy Director Mr. Gurjinder Singh Maur, also urged women to come forward in politics for the public service and help in the implementation of programs aimed at empowering women.
Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary categorically said that continuing our efforts to provide jobs to the youngsters; various vacant posts are being filled in the Social Security, Women and Child Development under Chief Minister’s ambitious Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Mission.
