Order to recruit all the employees of class-D on regular bases

Review of ongoing work in 15th meetings of the Board of Management of AIMS, Mohali

Medical Education and Research Minister Punjab, Dr. Raj Kumar Verka has directed to expedite the remaining work of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) so that the classes in this institute could be started at the specific time.
While presiding over the 15th meeting of the Board of management of AIMS Mohali, Dr. Verka has instructed for bestow momentum to the construction work of the medical college, procurement of equipment and recruitment of staff in various departments. He said that his main objective is to provide high quality medical education to the students so that reputed professors, doctors and other technical staff should be recruited for this institute.
He has directed to fill all the vacancies in the class-D on the regular bases, instead of outsourcing. He said that it is the policy of the Punjab Government to fill the vacancies of class-D permanently and this should not be ignored under any circumstances. He has also instructed to call the tenders for the remaining construction works and procurement of the equipment for the medical college as soon as possible so that no problem would arise after the commencement of this academic session.
Earlier, presenting the agenda of the meeting, principal of AIMS Dr. Bhavneet Bharti has apprised about the recruitment in various departments, the construction work, the difficulties faced in different fields and various works done so far in the medical college. He also informed about the arrangements being made for the classes starting from this academic session. The college is being set up at a cost of Rs 450 crore. MBBS Admission has been approved by the Center and these classes will start from current academic session. The Mohali Civil Hospital is being upgraded for this institute.
Apart from officers and board members of various departments, Mr. Alok Shekhar, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Education and Research, Dr. Raj Bahadur Singh, Vice Chancellor Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, ADC Mohali, Mr. Himanshu were also present in the meeting
