Patiala, October 7:
Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Dr. Preeti Yadav, visited the Sanouri and Sanour grain markets today to initiate the paddy procurement process. During her visit, she reviewed the arrangements and instructed procurement agencies to ensure that paddy is purchased at fair prices, emphasizing that the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, is closely monitoring the procurement efforts and any lapses will not be tolerated.
Dr. Preeti Yadav assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a smooth procurement process, with no farmer facing difficulties. She held a meeting with officials from the Mandi Board, Market Committee, procurement agencies, and arthiyas, where she stressed the importance of prompt purchase and lifting of paddy to avoid delays.
Addressing the farmers, Dr. Preeti Yadav urged them to bring dry paddy to the mandis for quicker processing and to minimize their waiting time. She reaffirmed that the district administration is fully committed to ensuring a hassle-free experience for farmers.
On this occasion, DMO Mandeep Singh, representatives from procurement agencies, traders, and farmers were also present.
