Patiala, June 11:
With the aim of promoting a healthier and disease-free lifestyle across Punjab, the state government’s flagship wellness initiative, “CM di Yogshala”, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is receiving an enthusiastic response in Patiala district. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav shared that regular yoga sessions are being organized at various locations in the district during both morning and evening hours.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashok Kumar informed that 18 yoga classes are currently being held regularly in Patran. These sessions are open to people of all age groups, including both men and women. He highlighted that the initiative is proving especially beneficial for individuals suffering from long-term ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, fatigue, depression, and other lifestyle-related conditions.
“Yoga not only enhances physical health but also contributes significantly to mental peace and emotional well-being,” said Dr. Preeti Yadav. “Through CM di Yogshala, the residents of Patiala are adopting positive changes in their daily lives, and many are experiencing visible improvements in their health by actively participating in these classes.”
District Coordinator of CM di Yogshala, Rajinder Singh, noted that participants have reported feeling more energetic and mentally resilient. “Regular involvement in these yoga sessions is helping people find relief from chronic health issues,” he added.
He further informed that residents of any village or town interested in starting yoga classes under CM di Yogshala can give a missed call on 76694-00500. Following registration, the government will appoint a certified yoga instructor at the location. So far, more than 7,941 people across Punjab have directly benefited from this initiative—and the number continues to grow steadily.
