Chandigarh, April 4
The UT witnessed the highest number of fresh coronavirus cases on a single day for the first time in six months as the surge in the pandemic continued unabated.
Chandigarh recorded 341 +ve cases which is the highest since Mid-September last year. The caseload in UT is now 3150.
The UT also witnessed one more death due to corona on Sunday. According to a media bulletin, a 52-year-old COVID positive female R/o Sector 19, a case of Severe Lung Disease, expired at Mayo Healthcare Hospital, Mohali.
The death toll in Chandigarh has now risen to 383.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 352 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
