Chandigarh, April 17
UT recorded two more deaths and 431 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours. The number of active cases of infection in the city has risen to 3414.
The death toll in Chandigarh now stands at 410 while the caseload has increased to 33309.
According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, a 52 year old COVID positive female R/o Sector 56, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, expired at Cheema Medical Complex, Mohali. The second fatality related to a 57-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 56, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, who expired at GMCH 32.
Fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 438 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
