The Dept. of Computer Science & Technology (CST), Central University of Punjab, Bathinda organized a Webinar on “Job Opportunities & Skill requirements among students for Industry” under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari. The keynote speaker of this programme was Er. Chandandeep Singh, Head Marketing & CRM, TVS Credit, Chennai. Students from engineering institutions of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi region participated in this webinar.
Er. Chandandeep Singh in his keynote address shared the case studies of successful start-ups young entrepreneurs & outlined that all of them have common qualities such as zeal to learn new things, passion to practice, power of communication, and ability to comprehend the situation & develop innovative solutions, etc. which played key role in their success. He highlighted various job opportunities available in different technical fields like App Making, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Digital Marketing, Ethical Hacking, Project Management etc. and encouraged students to enhance their employability chances by developing following soft skills, such as interpersonal communication, critical observation & problem-solving ability, leadership, social skills, creativity, teamwork, general awareness and adaptability. He also shared emerging job profiles such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, BlockChain Developer, Customer Success Specialists, Growth Manager, Cyber Security Specialists, Robotics Process Automation Developer, etc. which students can make a bright career. He suggested youngsters to choose the job profile of their interest and develop the habit of reading to enhance their knowledge.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Tiwari appreciated Dept. of CST for conducting webinar on the requirement of students & complimented the keynote speaker for sharing useful insights to the participants. He emphasized that just like other sectors, technology could also bring revolution in the agriculture sector and young technical experts should focus on developing innovative solution in areas of farm surveillance, rice residue utilisation, farm irrigation management, precision farming etc to realise the vision of Atam Nirbhar Bharat.
The Webinar commenced with the welcome address by Prof. V.K. Garg, Dean Student Welfare, where he motivated students to work hard and develop necessary skill during their course duration. After this, Dr Satwinder Singh, HoD, CST Dept., introduced the keynote speaker to the participants. Towards the end, Prof. Amandeep Kaur, Dean School of Engineering & Technology thanked the participants & organising team for the success of this programme.
