CHANDIGARH, April 3: Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh has crossed the one million followers on the micro-blogging site, Twitter. Capt Amarinder is the only politician from Punjab to have crossed one million mark.
Besides Twitter, he is also very active on Facebook and has regularly been interacting with his followers on the social media platforms. During the COVID pandemic he extensively used Facebook to interact with people regularly on a weekly basis.
Besides, Capt Aamrinder is the only politician from Punjab to be followed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Among his other prominent followers on Twitter include Rahul Gandhi.
Next to Capt Amarinder is Navjot Singh Sidhu with 8.38 lakh followers. Sukhbir Singh Badal has 3.95 lakh followers, while the comedian turned member parliament of the Aam Aadmi Party, Bhagwant Mann has 4.69 lakh followers.
Another prominent Punjabi politician with maximum number of followers on Twitter is Manish Tewari Anandpur Sahib MP and National Spokesperson of the Congress, with 4.54 lakh followers. After Capt Amarinder, Tewari is the most active on Twitter.
Former union minister and Akali MP from Bathinda, Ms Harsimrat Kaur Badal has 2.6 lakh followers.
No other Punjabi politician has more than one lakh followers on Twitter.
