Ludhiana, January 25:
Cabinet Minister Mr Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria today laid the foundation stone of an upcoming leisure valley on 6 acres of land in Haibowal area, here. This leisure valley is being developed on a vacant piece of land along the Budha Nullah by the Ludhiana Improvement Trust with a cost of Rs 2.96 crore.
He was also accompanied by Ludhiana Improvement Trust Chairman Mr Raman Balasubramaniam, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Councillors Mr Maharaj Singh Raji, Rashi Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, besides several others.
While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria informed that this Leisure Valley would have lush green lawns and shady trees, dedicated footpath for morning/evening walk, open gym, kids playing area, canopies for sitting, benches, tubewell for water supply, modern lighting, besides other such amenities.
He said that the Haibowal area lacked projects such as leisure valley and that is why, a vacant chunk of land has been identified for developing it. He said that this project would prove very beneficial for the area residents. He informed that the leisure valley would be constructed in a manner that it would have play areas for children, besides grounds and recreation areas for adults.
