In a significant step towards enhancing the welfare of defense personnel and their families, Defense Services Welfare Minister Shri Mohinder Bhagat convened a high-level meeting of the Defense Services Welfare Department in Chandigarh on Tuesday. This meeting underscores the Punjab government’s unwavering commitment, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to the holistic development of the state.
During the meeting, key issues, ongoing projects, and future initiatives of the department were thoroughly reviewed. Officials provided detailed updates on various schemes aimed at improving the welfare of defense personnel, ex-servicemen, and their families.
The discussions centered on further enhancing existing welfare programs, addressing the challenges faced by veterans, and advancing the department’s goals to ensure greater accessibility and efficiency in service delivery. Minister Bhagat emphasized the importance of innovative solutions to guarantee sustained support for Defense Services personnel.
In addition, the minister highlighted several upcoming initiatives designed to extend robust support to defense families and ex-servicemen, reaffirming the government’s dedication to those who have selflessly served the nation.
The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Additional Chief Secretary for Defense Services Welfare, Mr. J.M. Balamurugan; Director of Defense Services Welfare, Brig. Bhupinder Singh Dhillon (Retd.); Managing Director of PESCO, Major General Harmandeep Singh (Retd.) and other senior officials.
