Lehragaga, February 21
Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal laid the foundation stones and inaugurated development works for the revamping of roads in various villages of the constituency at an estimated cost of approximately ₹13.27 crore.
On this occasion, he said that the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening rural infrastructure and providing better transportation facilities to the people. He stated that the renovation and strengthening of these roads will not only make travel more convenient for villagers but will also give a fresh boost to agricultural and commercial activities.
He informed that the roads for which work has been initiated include the 7.40-kilometre stretch from village Jhaloor to Ghorenab to Khandebad, with an estimated cost of around ₹5.83 crore. Additionally, the 4.80-kilometre road from village Bakhora Kalan to Ballran will be constructed at a cost of ₹3.78 crore.
Similarly, ₹1.45 crore will be spent on the 01.85-kilometre road from village Chotian to Bakshiwala, while the 2.80-kilometre road from village Lehal Kalan to Papra will be constructed at a cost of ₹2.21 crore.
The Cabinet Minister stated that the concerned departments have been directed to complete all these projects within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with high-quality standards. He emphasized that no compromise will be tolerated regarding the quality of work.
He further said that the government’s objective is to equip villages with urban-like amenities so that people from every section of society can benefit from development. On the occasion, villagers expressed happiness over the commencement of the road works and thanked the Cabinet Minister.
Officials from various departments, AAP office-bearers, panches, sarpanches, prominent citizens, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
