Barnala, October 9, 2020: Barnala Police has busted an inter-state vehicle theft gang operating in 10 states of the country with the arrest of four gang members from Barmer, Rajasthan, who have admitted to stealing more than 100 vehicles from various parts of the country.
The case unravelled when 2 Scorpio cars PB 10EF 7117 & PB 19S 1222 were stolen from Barnala on intervening night of August 26 and 27. FIR No. 383 Ps city Barnala was registered against unknown persons.
Under the guidance of SSP Barnala Sandeep Goe, Barnala Police team &CIA staff worked closely and technical investigation led to the arrest of the accused from Barmer, Rajasthan.
SSP said, this interstate gang used to steal cars 8-10 cars per month from various states and sold them to drug smugglers at throw away prices, who in turn used these cars with fake number plated for transporting drugs.
The arrested gang members namely Subhas @ Kalu,Feroz Khan @ Kalu , Krishna Ram S/o Hari Ram, Gaminda Ram S/o Raja Ram have 12FIRs registered against them in various states , details of which are given below, he added.
He further said, during interrogation, the accused admitted having stolen more than 100 vehicles from various parts of the country. More disclosures are expected as the investigation is on.
