Chairman PSFC holds meeting with officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department
Tenders floated for purchase of e-pos & weighing machines: Director, Food & Civil Supplies
Chandigarh, June 15:
In order to thoroughly discuss the issues pertaining to the cut imposed on distribution of foodgrains to beneficiaries, stoppage of portal for addition/deletion of ration cards and conduct of survey for verification of ration cards, the Chairman Punjab State Food Commission (PSFC) D.P. Reddy and the Members held a meeting with the senior officers of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
During the meeting at the Anaj Bhawan in Sector 39, the Chairman emphasized that the banners indicating various entitlements, Website, Grievances portal, apart from Helpline number of the commission and redressal of grievance mechanism should be installed at all the ration depots in the State.
On the occasion, the Director of the department, Ghanshyam Thori informed that the tenders for the purchase of e-pos and weighing machines have been floated. As soon as these are finalized, every depot holder would be provided with the e-pos and weighing machines.
Among others present included the Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Gurkirat Kirpal Singh and other officers of the department.
