Chandigarh, August 29:
Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today said that a test for Punjab Achievement Survey was recently conducted for the students of Class VI to XII, in which 19.61 lakh students from government and aided schools participated.
Disclosing this here today, Mr. Singla said that Secretary School Education Mr. Krishan Kumar was given instructions to complete the survey of government and government aided schools in the state well before the National Achievement Survey. Hence, Secretary Education is holding regular online meeting with all the District Education Officers, Deputy District Education Officers, Principals of District Education and Training Institutions, School Principals and Head Teachers, Block Primary Education Officers, Center Head Teachers and School Heads and suggestions are being sought from them.
Mr. Singla apprised that 15.32 lakh students from 6th to 10th and 4.29 lakh students of 11th and 12th have participated in this survey test. Giving class-wise details, he said that 2,42,205 students of 6th class, 2,51,200 students of 7th, 2,58,042 students of 8th, 3,88,707 students of 9th and 3,92,643 students of 10th class have taken part in the survey test.
The Education Minister said, likewise, 1,02,807 students of history subject, 91,891 students of political science subject and 38,538 students of medical and non-medical subjects from class 12th participated, while 1,00,843 students of history subject, 52,934 students of economics and 48,147 students of medical and non-medical subjects from class 11th took part in the survey test.
Mr. Singla categorically said that the teachers are providing required reading material to the students in the form of quiz and answers, while the school heads were holding online meetings with the parents for the success of the survey.
