Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 12:
On the second day of the Punjab Tourism Summit and Travel Mart today, the State Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann visited all over 128 stalls participating in the Travel Mart.
Visiting the exhibitions displaced by the Tourism department depicting the rich and vibrant heritage of the state, she interacted with women performing giddha, traditional embroidery and spinning cotton in the traditional colors of Punjab.
During this time, she took feedback from stall operators about their views on the Punjab Tourism Summit and Travel Mart organized by the Punjab Government and also sought information from them about the work to be done in this direction.
While the stallers appreciated the initiative of the government, they also earnestly appealed the minister to showcase Punjab’s rich heritage in other states.
They urged that just as the event showcased the folk colours, heritage, food and heritage of Punjab and the unseen places of Punjab, the state government must also set up such stalls in the fairs held in different parts of the country. Accepting their demands, the Tourism Minister assured to organise such events across the country in the future.
