Mansa Police has arrested a gang of wheat thieves who, after theft of wheat stored by the Government procurement agencies in connivance with the duty staff and sell the same at higher rates in the market. The accused Resham Singh Chowkidar s/o Hansa Singh r/o Ubha, Binder Singh s/o Darshan Singh r/o Mehal Kalan and Kuldeep Singh s/o Pappu Singh r/o Mehal Kalan have been arrested and 184 bags of wheat (in which 92 Qtl.wheat was filled) has been recovered amount of which is about Rs.1,84,000/-
Dr. Narinder Bhargav, SSP Mansa told that the Police of PS Sadar Mansa was on patrolling duty to take a vigilant eye on the activities of anti social elements. While the police party was available near village Ramdittewala, where wheat of Government procurement agencies such as Pungrain and Punsup etc., is stored in the godowns, Police party received information that some anti social elements in connivance with the officers and officials of Punsup and Pungrain are selling the wheat in the market at higher rates after stealing from the Godowns. It was also informed to the Police party that during the night of 27th and 28th of July, 2020, some thieves have loaded the wheat in a tractor trolley after theft in the Government Godowns and the same can be caught because that trolley is still parked in the Godown duly loaded with stolen wheat. On this, the Police party captured the tractor trolley and a case FIR No.309 dated 28.7.2020 u/s 409,406,380,120B IPC PS Sadar Mansa was registered against the accused Inspector Kulwinder Singh, Inspector Major Singh both of Pungrain, Resham Singh Chowkidar s/o Hansa Singh r/o Ubha, Kulwinder Singh @ Kala s/o Surjit Singh r/o Mehal Kalan, Binder Singh s/o Darshan Singh r/o Mehal Kalan and Kuldeep Singh s/o Pappu Singh r/o Mehal Kalan.
SSP Mansa Dr. Bhargav told that this case in being investigated deeply under the supervision of Shri Harjinder Singh Gill, DSP S/D, Mansa by the team of SHO PS Sadar Mansa. On the basis of preliminary investigation, the Police has arrested 3 accused namely Resham Singh Chowkidar s/o Hansa Singh r/o Ubha,
