New Delhi, September 20-A single-day spike of 92,605 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday has pushed the national tally to 54,00,619. Meanwhile, 1,133 fatalities took the death toll to 86,752, data provided by the Union Health Ministry said.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in India stands at 10,10,824 while 43,03,043 people have recovered so far, the Union Health Ministry has said.
The country has posted the highest single-day caseload in the world since early August, and lags behind only the United States, which has 6.7 million cases in terms of total infections.(Agency)
