Chandigarh, May 2
UT recorded seven more deaths and 860 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours as the march coronavirus continued unabated in the city in spite of a three-day lockdown along with the neighbouring cities of Mohali and Panchkula.
With this, the death toll has now risen to 496 while the caseload has increased to 44,306. The number of active infection cases now stand at 7,592.
According to a media bulletin issued here, the seven victims were in the age of 45 and 72 years. The new cases of infection were reported in different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 483 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
