In last 24 hours, 114 Corona virus cases and six deaths were reported in district Ludhiana. Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 618 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 140 patients (114 new patients from district Ludhiana and 26 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 307446 samples have been taken, out of which report of 305546 samples have been received, of which 284279 samples were found negative while report of 1900 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 18853, while 2414 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 9 patients lost their lives today (6 from Ludhiana, 1 from district Barnala and 2 from Jammu & Kashmir State). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 788 people from Ludhiana and 277 from other districts.
He informed that till date, 44818 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2560. Today, 108 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 5053 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
