UT recorded six more deaths and 171 new cases of coronavirus on Monday. With this, the death toll has risen to 153 and the caseload has climbed to 11678. The figure includes 2200 active cases of the infection.
According to a medical bulletin, a 58-year-old male r/o Sector 27, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive expired at PGIMER on Sunday. A 57-year old female r/o Sector 20, case of Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, expired at GMSH-16 on Monday. A 51-year-old female r/o Raipur Khurd, a case of ARDS, tested COVID positive, expired at GMSH 16 on Sunday. A 50-year old male r/o Sector 56, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH-32 on Sunday. An 80-year-old female r/o Sector 8, tested COVID positive, has expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali on Monday. A 71-year old male r/o Sector 25, a case of Coronary Artery Disease, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Sunday.
The new corona cases have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 222 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines
