UT recorded five more deaths and 116 fresh cases of coronavirus on
Thursday. With death toll has risen to 270 while the caseload has climbed to 17,051 .
There are as many as 1169 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin here, a 69-year-old male R/o Manimajra, a case of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, who tested COVID positive and expired at GMSH 16. An 80-year-old male R/o Sector 40, a case of Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus, who tested COVID positive and expired at Fortis Hospital. A 61-year-old male R/o Sector 15, Brought Dead to PGIMER and tested COVID positive posthumously. An 85-year-old male R/o Sector 37, a case of Hypertension, who tested COVID positive and expired at Grecian Hospital, Mohali.
Fresh cases of the pandemic have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 80 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
