Mansa,28 Dec, 2020-Mansa police organized a special camp today regarding Complaints of Matrimonial issues today. During this camp 70 complaints have been redressed and concluded. 40 couples have agreed to stay together after counseling during the camp, 27 families agreed to resolve the issue mutually and in 3 cases legal action has been taken.
Shri Surendra Lamba, IPS, SSP Mansa briefed press while issuing a press note that in a first of its kind initiative in the district, Seventy total complaints have been resolved in a camp organized at the district police headquarters. SSP Mansa further told the press that in the new initiative to render timely justice to the complainant families, Mansa police resolved cases related to women and children on the spot at women cell situated at the district police headquarter. SP (inv) Sh. Digvijay Kapil, PPS was the overall supervisory officer of the camp and Sh. Sarabjeet Singh DSP (PBI ) and Sh. Tarsem Masih DSP(D) and P/SI Sarabjit kaur (Incharge Women Cell) were also present with their staff. Total 70 out of the 80 parties to matrimonial disputes came present at the camp
Out to these 70 parties, total 40 families agreed to resolve their issue after counseling and resolved to start afresh. Out of the parties attending the camp, the Sarpanches. MCs and Panchyat Member expressed happiness at such a novel initiative and requested that such camps for speedy redressed of disputes should be frequent affairs. This helps in delivery of speedy and timely justice to both the parties, thereby avoiding unnecessary wastage of time and recourses of the public. It is worth mentioning here that Mansa Police under the leadership of Sh. Surendra Lamba, IPS SSP Mansa early also disposed off 879 pending complaints in a single day in all three sub-divisions. During the camp all the covid-19 related guidelines were followed and tea was also made available for the general public.
SSP Mansa stressed that women and children and senior citizens are the most vulnerable section of the society and redressal of their grievances is the prime responsibility of Mansa Police. On the demand of the people present, he reassured that these speedy grievance redressal camps will be a frequent affair.
