Spike in new coronavirus continued in UT on Tuesday with the city logging as many as four more deaths and 90 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll has risen 241 and the caseload to 15,339. The number of active infection cases has also risen to 922.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, a 76-year-old male R/o Sector 48, a case of Pneumonia, who tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH 32. A 45-year-old female R/o Makhan Majra, a case of Liver Abscess, who tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH 32. A 56-year-old male R/o Sector 25, a case of Chronic Liver Disease and Diabetes, who tested COVID positive at GMSH 16 and expired. A 58-year-old male R/o Sector 7, a case of Diabetes and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive expired at PGIMER.
Meanwhile, a total of 66 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
