In an ominous development, UT recorded an alarming four deaths and 422 fresh cases of coronavirus on a single day on Friday as the health authorities the patients were once again beginning to jam the city hospitals.
The number of active cases of the infection has jumped to 3213. The death toll has now 393 while the cases load has increased to 29,943.
According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, a 54-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 20, a case of Intestinal Obstruction, expired at PGIMER. The death cases related to a 44-year-old COVID positive Female R/o Burail, a case of Rheumatic Heart Disease and its Complication, who expired at PGIMER. A young, 28-year-old COVID positive male R/o Manimajra, a case of Gastric Perforation, also expired at GMCH-32. The fourth case was of a 65-year-old COVID positive Female R/o Sector 23, a case of Hypertension and Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus, expired at GMCH-32.
The fresh cases of infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
