UT reported four more deaths and 129 new positive cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll has risen to 162 while the caseload has climbed to 11,938. The figure includes 1963 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin released here, a 61-year old male r/o Sector 50, a case of Acute Kidney Injury, Encephalopathy and Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Wednesday. A 48-year-old male r/o Manimajra, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease, tested COVID positive, has expired at PGIMER on Tuesday. A 30-year-old male r/o Dhanas, a case of ARDS, tested COVID positive, expired at GMSH-16 on Monday. A 49-year old male r/o Sector 41, a case of Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive has expired at Mayo Hospital, Mohali on Wednesday.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 215patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
