In last 24 hours, 300 more patients were tested positive for Corona virus and 14 succumbed to infection. The active cases in district has reached 1743.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga informed that a total of 126811 samples have been taken till date, out of which report of 125607 samples has been received, of 113189 samples is negative and report of 1204 samples is pending. He said that 11214 persons have tested positive for Covid19 and 8994 were recovered.
He said that unfortunately 14 people have died due to infections and till now 474 have lost their life. He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. On Thursday, the samples of 4117 persons were collected by health department.
Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
