Chandigarh, April 14
UT recorded three more deaths and 421 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours on Wednesday as the surge in the pandemic continued unabated despite a series of measures taken by the Administration.
The death toll has now risen to 404 while the caseload has risen to 31985. There as many as 3371 active cases of the infection.
According to a media bulletin issued here, a 35-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Ramdarbar, a case of Bronchopneumonia and Alcoholic Liver Disease with Complications expired at GMSH-16. The fatality was that of a 76-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 24, a case of Hypertension and Diabetes, who expired at GMCH-32. In the third case, an 86 year old COVID positive Female R/o Dhanas, a case of Bilateral Pneumonitis with Hypertension expired at GMSH-16.
The new cases of coronavirus were reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 417 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
