Chandigarh, April 23, 2021:Chandigarh reported 828 new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, which is highest so far. Three deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours. The city was crossing ‘600’ mark consecutively for the last five days, but today, the number of infections were found even more than 800.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 4,622.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 4,062 samples. As per the figure, 430 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 37,232

COVID Death:-
- A 60 year old COVID positive Male R/o Maloya, a case of Acute Kidney Injury and Hypertension, expired at GMCH-32.
- A 45 year old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 41, a case of Acute Kidney Injury and Refractory Septic Shock, expired at PGIMER.
- A 45 year old COVID positive Female R/o Sector 29, a case of Bilateral Pneumonia and Septic Shock, expired at GMSH-16.
