Fatehgarh Sahib. December.27, 2020 The three day annual Saheedi Jor mela held in the memory of Younger Sahibjadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who were bricked alive here for refusing to embrace Islam concluded here today with religious ceremonies.
A massive “Nagar Kirtan” was taken out from Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurudwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib after performing the “Ardas” by Bhai Harpal Singh head Granthi Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib. Panj Piaras led the Nagar Kirtan, school bands, Gatka Parties,Nihang Singhs, Kirtani Jathas, Sukhmani Sahib Sewa Societies and various social, religious and political leaders accompanied the Nagar Kirtan. The main attraction of the Nagar Kirtan was the skills of martial arts shown by Nihang Singhs and Gatka parties. Lakhs of devotees accompanied the Nagar Kirtan and it covered 2 KM distance in 4 hours.
The palanquin carrying Guru Granth Sahib was placed on a well decorated four wheeler. Giani Harpreet Singh acting Jathedar Akal Takhat, Giani Jagtar Singh Head Granthi Harmandir Sahib was performing the duty of ” Chor Sahib”, where as, Bibi Jagir Kaur President SGPC, Harnam Singh Dhuma head Damdami Taksal, Baba Balbir Singh head Budha Dal, Nihal Singh Harianbelan Head Tarna Dal accompanied Guru Granth Sahib. Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar Keshgarh Sahib performed the concluding Ardas at Gurudwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib.
In his message to the “Sikh Quam” Giani Harpreet Singh acting Jathedar Akal Takhat Sahib reminded the Sikhs how the “Sikh religion” was formed after great sacrifices. He said no struggle or agitation can be success by deserting the religion. He urged everyone to pray & support for the success of the ongoing agitation of the farmers and said they will definitely succeed as they are following the principles of Sikhism. He called upon the Sikhs to follow the teachings of Gurus none else and to wage a war against drug abuse and female feticide and take inspiration from the martyrdom of Sahibjadas.
Amrit Kaur Gill Deputy Commissioner and Amneet Kondal SSP thanked the devotees and all those, who helped in commemorating the Saheedi Jor mela in peaceful and religious manner. They said no untoward incident was reported during the mela.
