Chandigarh, September 10
The Union Territory of Chandigarh on Thursday recorded three more deaths and 283 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the death toll to 80 and infection cases to 6987. Of these, 2573 are active cases.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, a 46-year old male r/o Manimajra with Bilateral pneumonia, hypertension and acute kidney injury with sepsis, tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH-32 on Thursday. The second death case was that of a 66-year-old male r/o sector 48 with diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, who expired at GMCH-32 on Saturday. The third case related to a 59-year-old female r/o sector 22, a case of pneumonia, tested COVID positive, has expired due to Type 4 Respiratory failure at Grecian Hospital, Mohali on Friday.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 191 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per MoHFW guidelines.
