Chandigarh, September 3
UT reported four more deaths and a record 276 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, taking the death toll to 63 and total infection cases to 5065. There are as many as 2116 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, a 72-year-old male, r/o Mauli Jagran, a case of Hypertension and COR Pulmonale, tested COVID positive, expired at CH-48 on Wednesday. The other case related to a 65-year-old male, r/o Sector 48, had a history of Hypertension and Asthma, tested COVID positive. He has expired at Grecian Hospital, Mohali last week.
A 58-year-old female, r/o Mauli Jagran, a known case of Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive. She has expired due to cardiac arrest at CH-48 on Wednesday. The fourth case related to a 44-year-old female, r/o Manimajra had a history of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension tested COVID positive. She has expired at GMCH-32 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a total of 213 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per MoHFW guidelines.
