In last 24 hours, 263 more patients were tested positive for Corona virus and 12 succumbed to infection. The active cases in district has reached 1748. Today, the samples of 5212 suspected patients were collected and the result is awaited.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga informed that a total of 128238 samples have been taken till date, out of which report of 126574 samples has been received, of 113862 samples is negative and report of 1664 samples is pending. He said that 11477 persons have tested positive for Covid19 and 9240 were recovered.
He said that unfortunately 12 people have died due to infection and till now 486 have lost their life. He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing.
Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
