Chandigarh, September 6
UT reported two more deaths and as many as 261 fresh cases of coronavirus on Sunday. With this death toll has risen to 71 and the infection cases tally to 5763.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the UT Administration, a 58-year-old male, r/o Dhanas, a case of Type I Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive. He expired at GMCH on Saturday. The second death related to a 50-year male, r/o Manimajra, a case of Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension tested COVID positive. He also expired at GMCH on Saturday.
The new cases were reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 149 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per MoHFW guidelines.
