Patiala,September 11.In a single day ever highest Corona spike in Patiala district on Friday 259 positive cases were reported thus taking total tally to 8,157 besides Seven more patients lost their lives in hospitals and till 228 persons fall victim to Corona pandemic in this district.Whereas under the ongoing “Mission Fateh” 161 more patients were also discharged from hospitals and Covid care facilities after total curing and sent home and it took total number of cured patients to 6,382 in the district. On the other hand number of active cases also show slight rise as it touched to the figure of 1,547.The Covil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while giving details about the same late here this evening told that today Seven persons , out of these five were women , have lost their lives in different hospitals as they are under treatment for various Chronic diseases and got infection of COVID-19. He said that out of these deaths five patients belonged to Patiala and one each from block Kalomajra and tehsil Patran. He said their last rites were got strictly performed as per new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the ho government.Dr. Malhotra further told that today result reports of 3,700 samples were received out of these 259 found out positives. Giving break up he said that out of these 127 cases reported from Patiala, 47 from Rajpura, 17 Nabha, 16 each from block Dudhan Sadhan and block Kalomajra, 9 from block Kauli, 8 from block Bhadson, 7 from Samana and Six cases each from block Harpalpur and block Shutrana. He said 94 cases came from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 165 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms. He said all these new cases have been shifted to various Covid care facilities, hospitals and home quarantine as per the new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government and contact tracing and sanitization of respective areas is under process. He told that as 22 cases reported from Baradari area of city so micro containment is clamped in the area with an attention to check further spread of the disease. He said that till 1,12, 633 samples were collected and tested in the district out of these 1,02, 526 found out negative, 8,157 positive, 228 total deaths, 6,382 total cured and discharged and total active cases are 1,547. He added that today 3,200 new samples were taken and sent to Lab for testing purposes whereas reports of 1,700 samples are still pending.Dr. Malhotra said that being a dry day on Friday the teams of health department today check 22 949 houses in the district out of these mosquitos Larva was found in 208 houses and department has issued warning notices to the owners of all these houses. He added that till in this season 9 cases of dengue and one case of Malaria is reported in the district.
