Chandigarh, September 4
UT recorded five more deaths and 203 fresh cases of coronavirus on Friday. With this the death toll has risen to 68 and total infection cases to 5, 268. The figure includes 2092 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, an 80-year-old male, r/o Sector 19, a case of Coronary Artery Disease, Triple Vessel Disease, Chronic Kidney Injury, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive. He has expired at PGIMER on Wednesday. The second death case related to a 72-year-old male, r/o Sector 52, a known case of Coronary Artery Disease, Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Friday.
A 72-year-old male, r/o Raipur Khurd, had a history of Hypertension and Bell’s Plasy, tested COVID positive. He expired at GMCH-32 on Friday. A 51-year-old female, r/o Sector 32, a known case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Hypothyroidism, tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH-32 on Friday. A 36-year-old male, r/o Bapu Dham Colony expired due to Refractory shock sepsis and Viral Pneumonia at GMCH-32 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a total of 222 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per MoHFW guidelines.
