(Jagdeep Chopra) Patiala,August 31.On Monday royal district of Patiala reported with three more Corona deaths with this total deaths number has touched to figure of 166 , On the other hand 180 new positive cases reported and total tally of positive patients gone upto 6,333.Whereas in the ongoing “Mission Fateh” too district today achieved a success with discharging of 135 more patients and now total of cured patients have touched to 4,628. Whereas the figure of active cases in the district also gone up today and touched to 1,539.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra giving details late this evening here today told that all the three deaths were reported from Patiala city areas and all patients were going under treatment for Chronic diseases like Sugar and high BP and during treatment got infected with Corona virus and failed to survive. He added that last rites of all these dead persons were strictly performed as per the new Covid guidelines issued by the government.While providing details about new positive cases, he said that today reports of 1,700 samples were received out of which 180 found positive and total tally touched to 6,333. Giving break up he added that out of these 98 cases reported from Patiala City, 23 from Rajpura, 8 from Nabha, 4 Patran, 3 from Sanour, 2 from Samana and 42 from different villages. He added that out of these 27 came from contact tracing and 152 with flu symptoms from containment zone areas and their shifting for treatment is going on under new guidelines and contact tracing is also on. He said these includes four pregnant women and one policeman.The Civil Surgeon further said that till 85,508 samples were collected and tested in the district out of these 77,735 found negative, 6,333 positives, 166 deaths, 4,628 cured and 1,539 active cases. He added that today 1,910 samples were collected and sent to Lab for testing, whereas reports of 1,240 samples are pending. He said that today two new micro containment’s were enforced in Street No. E of Mohindra Complex and in New Lal Bagh area.Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon issued an open appeal to general public, private hospitals, Labs and other physicians to extend their cooperation in collection of more and more samples to defeat the Covid-19 in the ongoing fight.
