In yet another surge, as many as four persons succumbed to coronavirus while the city reported 142 fresh cases of infection during the past 24 hours. The death toll has now risen to 39 while the number of COVID cases have risen to 2918.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the UT Administration, a 70-year-old female, resident of Sector 40 suffering from hypothyroidism, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Interstitial lung disease, COVID positive on 21.08.2020 expired at GMCH -32 on Saturday. The second death related to a 64-year-old female, resident of Manimajra, a known case of hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus diagnosed as COVID positive. She expired at GMCH 32 on Saturday.
A girl child of 1 year 9 months, resident of Sector 25 suffering from severe acute malnutrition, severe anaemia, infantile tremor syndrome and acute kidney injury, diagnosed as COVID positive on Friday died at PGIMER on Saturday.
A 68-year-old male, resident of Sector 23 a known case of hypertension, Type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease, diagnosed a case of SARI, COVID positive, expired at GMCH -32 on Saturday.
The new cases of coronavirus were reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
