Chandigarh, 7 August:Punjab Youth Services Department has launched a vigorous online awareness campaign under Mission Fateh to aware the youngsters against drugs, AIDS and to donate blood.
Disclosing this here today, Sports and Youth Services Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi said that 2400 volunteers of Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Ropar and S.B.S Nagar districts have participated on the first day of the campaign, while volunteers of the remaining districts would participate on coming days.
The Minister informed that three online quiz competitions on the subject of COVID-19, AIDS and blood donation are being conducted under the campaign and e-certificates are being sent to the winners via email. “Daily 300 e-certificates are being sent to the participants”, the minister categorically quoted, adding that volunteers of the Youth Services department were also encouraging people to maintain social distancing and download Punjab governments’ COVA app on their mobile phones to protect themselves from and probable victim of the virus during this perilous time of Corona.
He further said apart from this, volunteers are diligently working to create awareness among the general public through whatsapp groups regarding COVID-19 so that the people could take steps to prevent the spread of this pandemic. Volunteers of the youth club of colleges/ schools and villages are also distributing masks to auto drivers, street vendors and rickshaw pullers and the general public by visiting door to door and sensitizing them about the importance of COVA app and urging them to download the same.
