Chandigarh, July 21: State Vigilance Bureau today registered a criminal case against Sandeep Mittar, Junior Assistant, Improvement Trust, Phagwara, Kapurthala district for tempering with Government records.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said case has been registered against Junior Assistant Sandeep Mittar on the complaint of Sohan Lal Banga, Chairman of Improvement Trust, Phagwara. He stated that Sandeep Mittar had tempered with the records and receipts and done fraud with the Government vis-à-vis caused financial loss to the state exchequer by misusing his position. During the investigation it was found that the above said accused had collected money on official receipts but did not deposited with the treasury. In addition to this Sandeep Mittar forged signatures of executive officer while executing registries in revenue office.
He informed that a case under different sections of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB Police Station, Jalandhar and further investigation is under progress.
