Chandigarh, May 15, 2026:
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended S.D.O Jaskanwerpreet Singh, S.D.O. Shruti Sharma, and Clerk Ashu posted at PSPCL office, Ludhiana, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/-.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above-mentioned accused have been arrested based on a complaint lodged by Prince Nijhawan.
He further said that the complainant works in installing solar systems. He had installed 02 solar systems at different places. PSPCL was to inspect these solar systems and then install meters on them. In this connection, accused S.D.O. Jaskanwerpreet Singh, S.D.O. Shruti Sharma, and Clerk Ashu demanded bribe of Rs. 10,000 for each file, total Rs. 20,000 for the 02 files, to prepare the inspection and estimate report.
Unwilling to pay illegal gratification, complainant approached the VB Economic Offence Wing Ludhiana. After a preliminary enquiry on his complaint, the VB team laid a trap during which these accused were arrested red handed while accepting bribe money of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant in presence of two official witnesses.
In this regard, a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against these accused at VB Economic Offence Wing Ludhiana and further investigation into this case is under progress.
