Chandigarh, September 12
UT recorded as many as six deaths and 250 fresh cases of coronavirus on Saturday. With this, the death toll has risen to 89 and COVID tally to 7542.
According to a medical bulletin issued here bythe Administration, a 59 year old male r/o Maloya, a known case of Diabetes Mellitusand Severe Acute Respiratory Illness, tested COVID positive, has expired at GMSH-16 on Friday. The second death related to a 66 year old male r/o Sector 56, a case of Pulmonary edema and Chronic Sub-dural hemorrhage, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Sunday. A 54 year old male r/o sector 39, a case of Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, expired at Sector 48 Hospital on Friday. A 48 year old female r/o Behlana, a case of Hypertension, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness and Acute kidney injury,tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH 32 on Sunday. A 43 year old male r/o Maloya, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness, tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH 32 on Sunday. A 17 year old female, r/o Dhanas, a case of Typhoid, Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia and B/L Pneumonitis, tested COVID positive, was brought dead at GMSH-16 on Sunday.
The fresh cases of infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 264 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per MoHFW guidelines.
