Chandigarh, May 25
The downward trend in new coronavirus cases in Chandigarh UT continued on Tuesday with the city recording 258 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. Chandigarh also saw five more fatalities during the same period.
The number of active cases of Covid are 4063. With this, the death toll in Chandigarh has risen to 714 while the caseload has increased to 58992.
According to a media bulletin issued here, those who fell prey to the infection were in the aged between 41 and 84 years. New cases of infection were reported in different parts of the cities and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 618 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
