Patiala,September 22.On Tuesday dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease took Eight more lives includes three women in Patiala district taking total to 294 and on the other hand with reporting of 127 new positive cases total number of Corona patients gone upto 10, 641.Meanwhile 311 more patients today discharged and sent to their homes from Covid care centers and isolation facilities in this district after getting complete cure from disease taking total number of cured patients to 8, 428. On the other hand total number of active cases in the district have gone down to 1,919.Whereas after seeing increase in reporting of positive cases on regular basis from two specific areas in Phase 2 of urban Estate here the micro containment zone restriction was imposed thus taking total number of micro containment in the district to Nine.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while giving details about the same here late this evening further told that today reports of 2,350 samples includes one from Ludhiana were received out of these 127 new positive cases were reported he added that 37 cases came fro. Contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 90 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms.The Civil Surgeon said that Out of these new positive cases 66 cases reported from Patiala, 10 from Rajpura, 3 from Nabha, 4 from Samana , 13 from block Bhadson, 5 from block Kauli, 1 from block Kalo Majra, 2 from block Harpalpur, 1 from block Dudhan Sadhan & 22 from block Shutrana. He added that shifting, admitting, contact tracing and sanitization of their respectiveva areas going on strictly as per new COVID-19 guidelines and norms issued by the government.Dr. Malhotra further added that today eight more Covid deaths includes three women were also reported from the district. He said that out of these two came from Patiala and one each from Rajpura, Nabha, block Kauli and Kalo Majra respectively. He added that the last rites of the dead were got performed strictly as per new COVID-19 guidelines and norms issued by the government.Dr. Malhotra added that today teams of the health department have taken 2,400 new samples from the district and sent these into the Lab for testing besides reports of 1,150 samples are still pending.
