Challenges SAD leader for open debate with proof of having ever taken a stand in support of farmers
Chandigarh, September 21:
The Punjab Cabinet Minister and Senior Congress leader S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday demanded answers from the former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to 5 queries on the issue of farm ordinances.
In a press communique, S. Randhawa said that first of all Harsimrat Badal needs to answer as to what stand she took in favour of the farmers when the farm ordinances were given the nod by the Union Cabinet. The second query that warrants her reply is regarding the stand she took when these ordinances were okayed by the Cabinet for being tabled in the Parliament to turn the same into law.
Firing the third salvo, the Congress leader asked Harsimrat to explain her absence from the Parliament at the time of tabling the bills. The minister also asked Harsimrat to come clear on whether she tendered her resignation of her own volition or under any pressure as she was absent from the Parliament at the time resigning also. Putting the 5th question, S. Randhawa dared the former Union Minister to come out in the open that whether or not these ordinances are inimical to the interests of farmers or not?
Elaborating further, the Congress leader said that in case, Harsimrat Kaur Badal possesses any proof or document in support of her having ever taken a stand in favour of the farmers then the SAD leader should accept the open challenge for a debate on PTC or any other channel with Congress workers.
