Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal on Sunday warned of stern action against those indulged in rumour mongering about the COVID-19 pandemic and creating panic amongst people.

He said that no one should indulge in such anti-social activities in this diffivult and all of us should work together in fight against the outbreak of contagion. Mahal said that the police had already intensified surveillance on different platforms to keep a close vigil on such messages creating fear psychosis amongst the masses. Making an appeal to the people not to fall prey to such rumours and fake news , Navjot Singh Mahal said that the State Government and the Health Department had fully geared up to contain the further spread of COVID by mobilising requisite resources and manpower extensively. He also impressed upon the people if anyone had symptoms of COVID, he or she should immediately seek medical advice and undergo COVID test as the state-of-the-art healthcare facilities had already been put in place at Government hospitals across the state.
