Chandigarh, September 16

UT reported six more deaths and   366 fresh cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. With this, the death toll has crossed the 100-mark and COVID tally has climbed to 8958.

According to a medical bulletin, a 94-year old male r/o Sector 11, a case of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Hypertension, tested COVID positive, has expired at PGIMER on Wednesday.  A 78-year old male r/o Sector 35, tested COVID positive, expired due to Type 1 Respiratory failure at Fortis Hospital, Mohali on Sunday.    A 75-year old male r/o Sector 22, tested COVID positive, has expired due to Cardiac arrest at GMSH-16 on Tuesday. A 60-year-old male r/o Ramdarbar, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH-32 on Tuesday.       A 60-year old male r/o Sector 29, tested COVID positive, has expired at Grecian Hospital, Mohali on Wednesday.                 A 46-year old male r/o Sector 48, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, has expired at     Sector 48 Hospital on Wednesday.

The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.

Meanwhile, a total of 181 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
