Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, April 7:

Fostering a vibrant and enriching learning experience for the students, Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains on Monday inaugurated newly developed infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 2.34 crore across three government senior secondary schools of SAS Nagar (Mohali) district, while announcing a major facelift accomplished in 89 schools across the district as part of the “Sikhya Kranti” initiative. 

Unveiling the several infrastructure projects on the first day of the “Sikhya Kranti”, S. Harjot Singh Bains inaugurated Block A & C renovated at a cost of Rs 1.70 crore and a state-of-the-art mini science centre at Swargwasi Gurnam Singh Saini Senior Secondary School, Derabassi. The science centre, equipped with modern learning tools, was established at a cost of Rs 10 lakh and aims to spark a passion for STEM education. Additionally, a newly constructed toilet block for girls, costing Rs 5.65 lakh, was also inaugurated.

At the School of Eminence, Phase-11, SAS Nagar, the Education Minister inaugurated a new boundary wall constructed at a cost of Rs 13.99 lakh. He also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a playground at the school.

At the Shaheed Lieutenant Bikram Singh Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Sialba near Majri, the Education Minister inaugurated a new boundary wall constructed with Rs 5.75 lakh and three new classrooms built at a cost of Rs. 26.66 lakh. These additions aim to expand the school’s capacity and provide students with a modern learning environment. Existing classrooms were also renovated at a cost of Rs 2 lakhs to create a more conducive learning space. The Education Minister further announced that a new lab is being constructed with Rs 33 lakh at the school.

The Education Minister also announced that infrastructure projects worth Rs. 42.36 lakh have been dedicated today in the district’s Government Primary Schools located in Bishangarh, Bishanpura Khera, Majri, Phase-VII and Phase-Two of Mohali.

He further stated that 89 schools in the SAS Nagar district have also received a facelift under the “Sikhya Kranti” initiative of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government. This reflects the state government’s unwavering commitment to foster a conducive and enriching learning experience for students, besides pulling all the stops to realise the dreams of every child in the state.

MLA from Derabassi Mr. Kuljit Singh Randhawa, MLA from Mohali Mr. Kulwant Singh and other senior officials of Mohali district were also present during the events.

Meanwhile, the Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today also inaugurated infrastructure projects worth over 1.23 crore in four government schools of Ropar district as a part of Punjab Sikhya Kranti.

He dedicated modern physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, a playground, track and classrooms along with boundary wall constructed with a total cost of Rs 60.6 lac at Government Senior Secondary School, Lutheri.

The Education Minister also inaugurated boundary wall built with Rs 10 lakh at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Nangal Sarsa and 100-meter long boundary wall of Government Primary School, Nangal Sarsa at a cost of Rs 5 lakh.

Education Minister, along with the MLA from Rupnagar Advocate Dinesh Kumar Chadha, inaugurated the development works at the Government Senior Secondary Smart School in village Chanoli Bassi of Block Nurpur Bedi at a cost of Rs 37 lakh, where an integrated science lab has been constructed with a cost of Rs 11 lakh, toilets block for boys worth Rs1.18 lakh, a 300-meter boundary wall of the school has been constructed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh and the hall room has been renovated and a shed for a cycle stand has been built with a cost of Rs 10 lakh. At the Government Primary School Chanoli Bassi, new classrooms have also been constructed at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakh and  boundary wall with Rs 1.60 lakh.
