Amritsar, January 6, 2021:Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Wednesday honoured Prabhjot Kaur with a sum of Rs 1 lakh for winning a gold medal in archery at the level of Senior National Games.
Bibi Jagir Kaur, president of SGPC, handed over a cheque of the honorary amount to the sportsperson belonging to Khalsa College, Patiala and lauded her sporting achievements, and appealed to the youth to take inspiration from such talented sportspersons.
The SGPC president said, “Youths are the future of the nation and the Sikh body SGPC has to encourage them. Under the decision to give an honorarium to the students and sportspersons who have made remarkable achievements in various fields, a cheque of Rs one lakh has been given to Prabhjot Kaur.”
She congratulated Prabhjot Kaur and her parents and hoped for more such achievements from this sportsperson in the future. On this occasion, Prabhjot Kaur and her parents thanked SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur.
The parents of Prabhjot said, “SGPC is a great organization of the Sikh community and its promotion of sportsperson was important to motivate the youth towards the field of sports.”
